History of Javasko
Jaakko Vastamäki and Jarmo Korpela founded Javasko in 1985. At this time the welding section and some machining equipment of the Ahlström Oy's Mänttä pump factory became a part of Javasko.
In 1986, we built new production facilities in the industrial area of Isonniemi.
In 1987-89 our production increased quite rapidly and we acquired new, fairly large machining tools. In 1990, we gained our peak growth of the period before the recession and our employee number approached 50 people.
From 1991-1993 Finland was in recession. Our sales and personnel both decreased, but we survived by working hard. In 1994, our production again went into a steep rise. We acquired another production hall in Isonniemi for sheet metal and welding work and we increased our machining.
The years 1996-97 were a strong period of growth and we invested in new sheet machinery.
In 1998-2000, we developed Javasko into a system supplier and created a good partnership relations with customers.
2001 was a year of strong growth. The number of employees rose to 80. We invested in new machining tools.
In March 2004, the Finn-Power Vilppula factory’s welding and machining department was transferred to Javasko through a business acquisition.
In February 2010, Javasko Oy and Sulzer Pumps Finland Oy signed a strategic cooperation agreement. The Sulzer Pumps Finland Oy Mänttä's pump factory production activities were transferred in Javasko Oy's operations. The partnership agreement between both parties strengthens the growth of business, the development of new business areas and the continuous improvement of competitiveness.
